New award announced celebrating the best renewable energy projects from across the Caribbean. The CREF project awards will honour excellence in project execution and will be unveiled at this year’s CREF 2017 in collaboration with Rocky Mountain Institute/Carbon War Room.
Supported by an industry-leading Advisory Committee, awards will be made across the following categories:
Best Utility Scale Wind
Best Utility Scale Solar
Best Storage Project
Best Distributed Generation Project
Best Microgrid Project
Best Energy Efficiency Project
Best Project Financing
The committee will also recognize the Minister of Energy of the Year and the Utility CEO of the Year.
The awards will be judged across a series of criteria, including: innovative approaches to financing, procurement, good value for consumers, and precedence setting for future renewables.
The CREF Project awards committee includes Dr. Cletus Bertin, CEO of CARILEC, Dr. Devon Gardner, Programme Director of Energy at CARICOM, Doug Hewson, Managing Partner at Portland Private Equity, Nils Janson, Executive Vice President of Castalia, Adam Carter, Managing Director at CIBC FirstCaribbean, and Chris Burgess, Director of Projects at the Rocky Mountain Institute/Carbon War Room.
